Sata Cissokho named head of Berlinale’s World Cinema Fund and Toolbox Programme

Berlin has appointed Satasisoko as the new head of the World Cinema Fund (WCF) and Toolbox Program.

Cissokho was involved with project selection and development of emerging filmmakers from Paris-based Paradise City Sales.

In the newly integrated role, Sisoko will oversee the World Film Fund and the Toolbox Program for the Berlin European Film Market (EFM). Both are Berlin’s Pro Initiatives that support an underrated artistic voice.

Cissokho will move to WCF leadership this month with an instant focus on the Toolbox programme.

Current WCF head Vincenzo Bugno has completed his tenure in office at the end of 2025 after completing his 21-year role.

The World Film Fund will continue its role in funding from regions with vulnerable film infrastructure. Toolbox complements this by providing professional training, mentorship and practical tools to underrated film experts. Both initiatives are funded by the creative European Media Strand.
