In the second week, the New York Jets were at home, playing against Joshu Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The Jets lost just a few weeks in Week 1, and the offense looked explosive under Justin Fields.
Unfortunately, the same could not be said about the 30-10 loss to Buffalo in the second week. During that game, QB Justin Fields’ start suffered a concussion and was ruled out. Veteran backup QB Tyrod Taylor came in and played the rest of the game. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn reported that the field will be inactive in week three. Tyrod Taylor will begin Tampa Bay in the third week.

Prior to the 2024 season, the Jets signed Tyrod Taylor into a two-year, $12 million deal. Last year he was Aaron Rodgers’ backup QB. Taylor saw the action in two games as Rodgers started all 17 games in 2024. With just two games in the 2025 season, Tyrod Taylor will get off to the Jets’ first start. Justin Fields is in the Buccaneers for the third week. This is Taylor’s first start since the 2023 season with the New York Giants.
Before Taylor entered the game in week two, the Jets had zero touchdowns. However, Tyrod Taylor led the scoring drive in his second possession. He found Teremy Ruckert with a five-yard touchdown pass. The team was the only touchdown of the game. Taylor finished 7-11 with 56 passing yards.
Tyrod Taylor has a chance to correct the Jets’ season on Sunday.

Tyrod Taylor missed the entire New York preseason due to a knee injury. However, head coach Aaron Glenn is confident in his veteran QB. With over 15 professional seasons, Taylor began 58 career games, making it 28-28-1. In 2023 he got five starts for the Giants, making it 2-3. What does the Jets look like after being attacked for under 200 yards in the second week?
New York exploded in week one with a total attack of 32 points and about 400 yards. Throughout the two games, Tampa Bay allows just 19.5 points per game. Tyrod Taylor has something to say about it on Sudnay’s afternoon. In his final start, Taylor was 23-32 with 297 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception. It was the 2023 Eagles vs. Eagles victory. Can the 36-year-old step up in week 3 and lead New York to a much needed victory? The Jets are trying to avoid a 0-3 start at SICNE 2021 for the first time.
