The Department of Justice (DOJ) said on September 16 it was suing Oregon and Maine for failing to provide information on how its election offices can maintain a valid voter registration role.
The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division said in a statement that the two countries refused to cooperate with requests for unedited access to voter roles and maintenance procedures despite allegedly giving private organizations access to “identical information.”
