Utah took part in the mid-term rezoning trends of Congress, but not by choice. The state is being forced to redraw the map of the legislature in order to comply with recent court orders.
Though 12th grade constituencies tend to be relatively rare, the practice recently made headlines after Texas followed by Texas and moved to state partisan gerrymanders, which add five new Republican seats in Texas and five new Democratic seats in California.
