The two groups, proposed to be formed after the demerger of the Godrej Group, will continue to collaborate on development projects in Vikhroli on the outskirts of Mumbai, where Godrej & Boyce, a group controlled by Jamshyd Godrej, owns 3,000 acres of land.
Mr. Jamshyd Godrej, MD, Godrej & Boyce (G&B) said, “The future development of Vikhroli presents a unique opportunity to create a holistic space in metropolitan Mumbai where urban development and biodiversity co-exist harmoniously. Godrej Construction and Godrej Properties bring complementary strengths which have resulted in the launch of successful real estate projects in Vikhroli.”
Godrej Construction is a group company of Godrej and Boyce, which will be known as Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG), while Godrej Properties will be a group company of Godrej Industries Group (GIG), under the control of Nadir and Adi Godrej.
Overdue Tuesday evening, the Godrej family announced a change in ownership in group companies. GEG will include G&B and affiliated companies with a presence in the aerospace, aerospace, defense and automotive industries. GIG will consist of five companies, including Godrej Consumer Products.
