Paolo Sorrentino said there is nothing the film can do to influence what he called Gaza’s “genocide.”

In response to an audience question about his thoughts on what he described as “the role of films and audiences and the role of audiences in the resolution of genocide” in relation to the Gaza situation, he said, “No film can prevent this kind of thing.”

“I can’t talk about this because I have no authority and only use general things that can be said in this kind of situation,” Sorrentino said. “The film can’t have such a profound effect on what’s going on in this moment. Sorry, but yes. My opinion is very mediocre. I simply agree with everyone who says there’s a genocide happening in Gaza.”

Both questions and Sorrentino’s responses were filled with applause at the venue of the Bosnian Cultural Center.

Sorrentino’s new movie Blessing (Italian title: Blessing) The Venice Film Festival will be held on Wednesday, August 27th. Mbi holds distribution rights in 10 regions, including the US and UK Ireland. The company’s CEO, Efe Cakarel, issued a statement this week in response to criticism of Mbi’s funding from Sequoia Capital, an investment company with links to Israeli defence technology.

Disney against violence

In his 90-minute masterclass session, Sorrentino requested that the use of open formats be used, with only a handful of questions from Serbian director Ognien Gravonick before viewers’ questions for over an hour.

When asked about the violent scenes in the film, Sorrentino said that he personally likes Martin Scorsese as one of his favorite directors, and that he wouldn’t include them in the film. “It’s very exhausting to film violent scenes.

“Another reason I don’t use violence is that I don’t like the characters suffering too much,” Sorrentino said. “I like everything good Disney movies. I don’t put a character in a state of life that is so hopeless. It’s a bit desperate, but not too much, and violence brings great despair.”

The director said he would continue working from his own scripts rather than adapting others’ work. “I’ve read other people’s scripts many times, and 20 years later, at the end I always said no,” Sorrentino said. “If the writer is another person, you can’t understand what’s written in the script. I only understand what I wrote. When I do a commercial, I ask you to write a commercial.

He detailed his streamlined relationship with his leading cinematography, Dahlia Dantonio. Blessing – And, apart from Sorrentino’s 2001 debut, Luca Bigatzi shot all eight previous features One man.

“I’ll say what I feel about the film and then they decide what to do,” Sorrentino said. “I’ll explain the characters, the movies, what I’m looking for, and they’re very clever to understand that it’s good for me. It’s a 10-minute conversation.”

When asked about the actors I would like to work with in the future, Sorrentino said, “There are a lot of actors and actresses I would like to work with, but the best one is a movie without actors or actresses.”

The coach repeatedly made love for late Argentine footballer Diego Maradona and Sorrentino’s local football team Napoli. And “The film saved my sad life. Whenever I feel too sad, I know it’s time to do a film.”

He also said that the conventional two-hour runtime for many feature films “isn’t going very well.”
