The Trump administration is reviewing all 55 million people who have valid US visas for potential deportation if a violation is found.

The State Department said all visa holders, including tourists, will be subject to “continued review” to show that they are not entitled to permission to enter or stay in the United States.

If such information is found, the visa will be revoked and if the visa holder is in the United States, he or she will be subject to deportation. That means that even those who are authorized to be in the US can suddenly see that those permissions have been revoked.

The State Department said it was looking for indicators of ineligibility, including authorized time frames outlined on the visa, criminal activity, threats to public safety, engaged in any form of terrorist activity or providing support to terrorist organisations.

Officials say the review includes all Visa holders’ social media accounts, law enforcement agencies and their country’s immigration records, as well as viable violations of US law committed while in the United States.

The administration is steadily imposes more restrictions and requirements on visa applicants.

The review of all visa holders appears to be a significant extension of the process, which was primarily a process focused on students who have been involved in what the government perceived as pro-Palestinian or anti-Israel activities.

The Trump administration has joined protests in support of Palestinian rights, denounced students and universities for condemning Israeli military attacks on Gaza, anti-Semitism, support for terrorism and accusations by activists.

Earlier this week, he said that since Trump returned to the White House, he has revoked more than 6,000 student visas due to tenure and violations of local, state and federal law.

He said that of these 6,000 people, about 4,000 were due to actual violations of the law, and that about 200-300 visas have been revoked on terrorist-related issues.
