Karol Nowrocky’s first visit as Poland’s president will be in the United States, where he will meet Donald Trump. Pawel Szefernaker, head of the president’s cabinet, announced on Saturday that Nawrocki met with Trump at X.

“In an official congratulatory letter delivered on his oath, US President Donald Trump invited Poland President Karol Naulocky to the White House on September 3, 2025 for an official working meeting,” wrote Szefernaker.

As Warsaw aims to strengthen its strategic partnership with Washington, the conference is expected to focus on bilateral relations, security cooperation and NATO.

ties with the United States, including the Polish diaspora, the Trump administration, NATO and Trump himself, were one of the key themes of the Polish presidential election, which ended in the second round of elections in June. With the ongoing war in Ukraine and security issues along the border with Belarus, both candidates in the race have run a campaign on the premise that they will ensure the best possible transatlantic cooperation.

At the parade on May 3rd, the Polish Constitution anniversary, Nau Rocky met with the Polish community in Chicago, celebrating the holiday and expressing his support for the close ties between the two countries.

The day before, Now Rocky was received in an oval office by US President Donald Trump after attending an event commemorating Prayer National Day.

During the presidential debate in April, Nowrocky informed that his priorities are to go to Washington to “sort our international relations and do what the Donald Task government is not doing.”

A US delegation led by Small Business Director Kelly Loeffler attended Now Rocky’s presidential inauguration. Loeffler highlighted the US commitment to an alliance with Poland, highlighting economic cooperation and the development of a common security goal.

Marcin Przydacz of the President’s Office said that Nawrocki received an eagle sculpture from the US delegation.

Is the United States the guarantor of Poland’s lasting peace?

Many conservative Polishers welcomed Trump’s policies despite Ukraine’s clash with President Volodimia Zelensky.

“Without Americans it’s hard to imagine lasting peace, but we’re all trying to do that.” Morawiecki said in an interview with Euronows in March. He added: “Without the support of America, we in Europe would not have been able to maintain peace for decades.”

Current Polish President Andrzezi Duda expressed similar sentiments. “My conclusion is absolutely clear today. There’s no one outside of America who can stop Putin.” Duda said in an interview with Euronows .

“That’s why I believe President Donald Trump can end this war through his determination,” he added.

Duda was the first international leader to visit Donald Trump at the White House after taking office in January.

Poles have vague opinions about the United States

Most Poles are aware of the military power of the United States, leading many to appreciate the strategic relationship between the two countries. A survey conducted in March for the Polish weekly magazine Polityka found that 85% of respondents perceive the United States as a powerful military entity worldwide.

At the same time, the extreme percentage of the United States is having a positive impact on the world is declining. A survey conducted by the state research institution CBO in April 2025 found that only 20% of respondents who stated that the US had a positive impact on international politics and that the lowest recorded results were respondents since they began measuring this opinion in 2006.

Data from the same survey also show that only 31% of Poles rate Poland and the US relationship as “good.” This is the lowest score since the collapse of communism.

“Model NATO Ally”

Key figures from the Trump administration praise Polish policies, including the country’s commitment to security spending and transition policies.

In February, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses described Poland as “model Nato Ally” after a meeting with Polish counterpart władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio then expressed similar sentiments in a statement. “Poland and the United States stand together as partners in building a safer and more prosperous future for our people,” he writes. “We look forward to further strengthening our energy security cooperation.”

“Our shared future never seemed bright,” Rubio added.
