Producer Lynette Howell Taylor has been elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by the organization’s board of directors.
Howell Taylor took over the top elected role at Janet Yang’s US Academy, where he served a three-year term as president.
Los Angeles-based British-born Howell Taylor began his first term as president during his second term as governor of the Academy and will represent the Body Producer Branch. She previously served as vice president and chair of the Academy Awards committee for three years.
Since 2014, Howell Taylor, a member of the Academy, has produced over 25 films. Stars are born, Accountant, Big eyes, Blue Valentine’s Day, Half Nelson And in the future Roofman.
She also hosted an Oscar Ceremony Show with Stephanie Alane in 2020 and was nominated for an Emmy Award.
Also selected by the Academy Committee as officers for 2025-2026 were Jennifer Fox’s Leslie Barber, Producer’s Branch, Simon Kilmurry, Documentary’s Branch and Actor’s Branch, and Howard a Rodman, Writers’ Branch.
