Three veteran lawmakers were killed in a powerful explosion on Friday morning, July 18th, at a training facility for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office (LASD).
The explosion occurred at the Biscales Training Facility around 7:30am local time, prompting a large-scale federal and local investigation.
“We have black clouds in our department today,” LA County Sheriff Robert Luna confirmed the deaths of three members of the arson bomb. BBC.

Sheriff Luna said the three deputies who died had a total of 74 years of service. Their names have not yet been made public as one family has been notified.
“If you’re familiar with our special enforcement department, they’re the best and best,” Luna said. As reported by “Unfortunately, we lost three people today.” CBS News.
Luna added that these agents make an average of over 1,100 calls per year, highlighting their experience and expertise.
What caused the explosion at the Viscales Training Facility?
The exact cause of the explosion remains unknown. Luna confirmed that the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, federal partners including the tobacco, firearms and explosives (ATFs) are leading the investigation into post-explosion. The murder detective also responded.
The bomb squad has since declared the training facility safe, with authorities saying there is no threat to the surrounding communities.
