Citizen security guards will join the other 2,000 people already deployed in the city. California Gov. Gavin Newsom has been critical of the move.

President Donald Trump’s administration has allowed 2,000 additional national security guards to allow the riots to continue to roll out in Los Angeles throughout the city, adding more than 2,000 people already to the city.

“By the president’s order, the Department of Defense is mobilizing an additional 2,000 California State Guards to be convened in federal services to support ICE and enable federal law enforcement officials to perform their duties safely.”
