The Cleveland Guardians have apologised to Boston Red Sox All-Star Jarren Duran after being attacked by fans in a suicide attempt in 2022.
The incident occurred in seven innings of Boston’s 13-3 victory over Cleveland on Sunday, near a visitor dugout where Duran called him “inappropriate.”
Duran stood on the top step of the dugout and stared at the fans, and he pointed out security before Heckler was kicked out by security at the progressive field.
“Fans just said something inappropriate. I’m glad that security handled it, the judges knew it and they looked after it for me.” Duran said.
What did Guardians fans say to Jaren Duran?
The exact content of Taunt is unknown, but we know it is about a player’s attempted suicide in 2022. It was released earlier this month on the recent Netflix series, The Clubhouse: Aine with the Red Sox.
“When you open yourself like that, you open yourself to the enemy as well. But I have good support staff, teammates, coaches around me. He said.
Why did Jaren Duran try to commit suicide?
In Docusary, Duran spoke about his struggles with mental health caused by difficulties on the field throughout the 2021 and 2022 seasons after being drafted into the Major Leagues.
After being selected in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB Draft, he felt he didn’t meet his goals or fans’ expectations, and criticism reached a boiling point.
Duran reveals that he is sitting in his room with a rifle loaded with his hand in his room, pulls the trigger and clicks on the gun, but nothing happens.
The left fielder believes it all happened for a reason and used it to burn what has made the league a glittering career.

Duran enjoyed a breakout season in 2024, winning an All-Star Game MVP in an All-Star Game, earning the honor of the second team in All-MLB, leading the American League in triple (14).
He finished 8th in the AL MVP poll and led the major leagues with plate appearance (735), bats (675) and doubles (48).
