US ranks El Salvador as safer than Spain

According to the US State Department, El Salvador is safer than Spain, France, the UK and several other European countries. The department’s travel advisory page upgraded El Salvador to Level 1.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that President El Salvador, President Naive Buquere, “has been important in improving the safety of his country to foreign travelers.

Conversely, the US State Department labeled Spain as a Level 2 country. In other words, the US government is urging extreme caution in this European country.

“Terrorism and civil unrest will increase attention in Spain” Advisory warning.

“Terrorist groups will continue to plot potential attacks in Spain, where terrorists can attack with little or no warning and target tourist locations, transport hubs, markets/shopping malls, local government facilities, hotels, clubs, places of worship, parks, major sporting events, educational institutions, airports and other public areas.

In contrast, the State Department only recommends “normal precautions” when traveling to El Salvador, where President El Salvador is scheduled to visit the White House next week.

The rising level of travel advisory follows the White House confirmation that US President Donald Trump is exploring sending US citizens convicted of a heinous crime to controversial prisons in El Salvador.

Already houses hundreds of illegal US immigrant exiles, Bukere offers to accept prisoners of all nationalities from the United States.

US travel advisories too label French level 2 due to “terrorism and civil unrest.” The UK is also level 2. Note Terrorism is a concern only.

Two weeks ago, the UK, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Finland and Norway warned against travel to the US, saying several tourists were “hardly detained” by immigration officers who mistakenly violated illegal immigrants. They pointed out that there is a risk of deportation.
