Richard Chamberlain gained fame as a heartfelt Dr. Kildare, becoming one of the biggest TV stars of the 1980s, and died at the age of 90.
Chamberlain spokesman Harlan Bol confirmed to BBC The precious actor passed away late Saturday night (March 29) in Waimanalo, Hawaii due to complications from a stroke.
Martin Lovett, Chamberlain’s longtime ex-partner, called him an “amazingly loving soul,” saying, “Our beloved Richard is now with the angels… our love lies beneath his wings, lifting him up for his next wonderful adventure.”
Richard Chamberlain: From teen idols to royalty in television and film
Born in Beverly Hills in 1934, Chamberlain gained fame in 1961 for his role in the hospital drama.
