Polish Prime Minister Donald Tass expanded his lighthearted invitation to Hollywood actor Jesse Eisenberg and provided military training in his newly adopted country to “get the role of a new James Bond.”

Eisenberg, who was granted Polish citizenship in the beginning of March, recently appeared on a US television show. Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallonhe joked the day after the citizenship was awarded, but he saw news reports claiming that all Polish men now need to undergo military training.

In response, Tusk posted a video to Tiktok, reassuring the actor, “There’s nothing to be afraid of!” And it is clear that military training in Poland is actually voluntary. He then encouraged Eisenberg to visit. “So come to Poland! And we will give you the role of the new James Bond? It’s yours!”

Eisenberg’s Polish Heritage

Eisenberg, best known for his role Social Networkwith Polish roots and was granted citizenship by President Andrze Duda. He described Polish nationality as “a lifelong honor.”

His latest film, The real painhe directs and stars with Kieran Culkin, set in Poland, explores themes of family, history and identity. The film received much praise and won two Oscars earlier this year.

Poland’s military plan

Tusk’s comments were bullying, but they are in Poland’s wider military expansion plans. On March 7, Task announced that his government is developing a massive military training initiative to address changes in the security situation in Europe.

The goal is to build an army of 500,000 soldiers, more than double the current forces, including reserves. Starting in 2027, the government plans to train 100,000 volunteers a year, with Tusk expressing confidence that there is no shortage of volunteers.
