Design changes
In terms of design, the overall silhouette of the novel Mahindra XUV 3XO will remain the same but will get redesigned front and rear fascias, heavily inspired by the Mahindra BE range of SUVs. At the front, it features a chrome triangular grille garnish, flanked by upgraded headlamp clusters and fang-shaped LED daytime running lights.
It also gets a front sill plate with fog lamps, while at the rear it gets a redesigned tailgate with connected LED taillights and a taller bumper. In the middle is the ‘XUV 3XO’ moniker along with Mahindra’s ‘Twin Peaks’ logo. Other exterior features include newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels, integrated roof spoiler, high-mounted brake delicate, shark fin antenna and more.
Interior
The interior of the novel Mahindra XUV 3XO has been recently refurbished. It will have the same dashboard layout as the Mahindra XUV 400 EV. It will feature a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system that is likely to be 10.25 inches diagonally, and will also get a redesigned console with a piano black and silver finish. The teaser also reveals a fully digital instrument cluster similar to the XUV 400 EV and is also expected to get novel upholstery options.
Feature list
In terms of features, the Mahindra XUV 3XO will get segment-first features such as a panoramic sunroof, a seven-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and dual-zone climate control that can be accessed through AdrenoX-connected in-car technology. Many cars in this segment offer connected vehicle technology with remote climate control, but the XUV 3XO will be the first in its segment to offer this feature with dual-zone climate control.
Other expected features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, AdrenoX-connected in-car technology, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, automatic headlights with wipers, and more. In terms of safety, it is expected to come with six airbags, all four disc brakes, ISOFIX mounts, traction control, ESP, TPMS, front and rear sensors, 360-degree parking camera and much more.
Details of the drive system
Mechanically, the XUV 300 will remain unchanged and will continue to be offered with a 1.5-litre turbodiesel with 115PS and 300Nm, a 110-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 110PS and 200Nm and a Turbosport variant with 130PS and 230Nm 1.2 -liter turbo petrol. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual or AMT automatic.
Fuel efficiency and rivals
The company also revealed the mileage and performance of the SUV. As seen on the digital instrument cluster, the 3XO will offer a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.1 kmpl and the same variant will be able to accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 4.5 seconds. It will continue to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Skoda’s upcoming sub-4 meter SUV.
